My Favorite Restaurant

Do you know "Yonamja"?
Yonamja is my favorite restaurant, so now I will talk about Yonamja.
If you enter this restaurant, many men who are wearing black suits greet you.  So when I went to this restaurant, I was very surprised because it was the first time that very cool men had greeted me.  This is one reason why this restaurant is my favorite.
Second, this restaurant has many delicious foods.  I especially like the steak at this restaurant.  So I always eat a steak when I go there.
How about going to this restaurant with your family or friends?

Kimchi Quesadillas

I would like to introduce kimchi quesadillas.  This food is a combination of Mexican and Korean food.  This recipe is from a Korean talk show that has a cooking corner where the guests introduce their own food recipes.  The recipes are simple and quick to cook at night.  The corner name is 야간매점.  A comedian introduced kimchi quesadillas and I was impressed with it, so I tried to cook it at home and served it to my friends.
All we need to make the sauce is chopped tomatoes, pepper, onion, and lemon juice.  We put them together and mix them.
To make a quesadilla, put a slice of tortilla in a frying pan and sprinkle some cheese on it.  Spread roasted kimchi over the cheese and sprinkle more cheese on top.  Then cover it with another slice of tortilla and turn the quesadilla so that it can be roasted well.
On the well-cooked quesadilla you can put the sauce and enjoy the food.
Kimchi quesadillas can be spicy for some people, but you can control the amount of kimchi.  The sauce is fresh and tangy because of the lemon juice.

My Favorite Restaurant

There are many nice restaurants in Iksan.  Among many restaurants I want to introduce VIPS.
This restaurant is a little bit expensive, but there are many delicious foods.  There are many kinds of steak and it also has a salad bar.  We can eat pizza, pasta, bread, fruit, coffee, etc.
This is a great place to have a family meeting or a birthday party.  If you have to treat a foreigner, it can be a perfect place.  VIPS is in the CGV building near the Lotte Mart.  There are many bus stops nearby, so it is easy to go there.

태백 칼국수

Today I want to introduce a very delicious kalguksu (칼국수) restaurant called 태백 칼국수 (Taebaek Kalguksu).
It is located in Jungang-dong (중앙동).  The restaurant looks so old at first, but their kalguksu tastes very deep.
There are a lot of items on the menu, but the most delicious dish is the kalguksu.  You can eat it with kimchi (김치).  :)  My family loves it.  If you feel like you want to eat more, you can call the server and ask for more noodles and soup.  Try some!!  It's very delicious!

Random Chatting

As smartphones are getting popular and are widely used, new ways of meeting people have emerged.  One of them is random chatting.
On a lazy afternoon I got so tired of studying, so I tried a random chatting app.  There I met a person.  We chatted on the phone for hours and hours.  The conversation we had was so interesting.
At the end, we exchanged each other's phone numbers.  We kept in touch and we got close to each other.  We finally met last week.  The experience was amazing.
I'm saying that random chatting is a great way to make great relationships.

Laos Incident

Unfortunately, nine North Korean defectors who tried to come into South Korea from Laos were sent back to North Korea again.  North Korea says that South Korea forced these people to read the Bible and to try to go to South Korea.  They might be treated as North Korean defectors by the government.  If they are treated as defectors, they might face execution at once.  The trial to clarify their situation is very short and lawyers have no power.
The fault of this happening lies with South Korea's diplomats in Laos.  The diplomats promised to go to their place by airplane, located 3 hours away by car, after one day.  But the airplane was delayed a few days, and that few days caused the arrest of the defectors.  It would be proper to punish the diplomats.
I hope that diplomats work hard with strong responsibility to save lives.

Iraq Bombing

On May 30, bomb terror occurred in Iraq because of a terrible denomination conflict.  For that reason, a minimum of eleven people died and dozens of people were injured.  The bombing happened in Baghdad, which is the capital of Iraq, and included a vehicle bombing.  Besides that terror, several bombs went off in other spots and a few more were killed.  But each foreign news source reported the extent of damage differently, so there could be more potential sufferers.

Reinforce Korean History

A few weeks ago, there was an issue with a Korean pop group named Secret.  Because one of the members of Secret misspoke.
She said, "Our team was not democratized."  Why was this wrong?
In our country, we use the word "democratization" positively.  But Jeon Hyo Sung said it negatively.  In a website named "Daily Best" we use that word negatively, too.  Her ignorance made our country angry.
Not only Jeon Hyo Sung must study, but also teenagers.

Attack on Titan (Advancing Giants)

Nowadays I follow the Japanese anime "Attack on Titan," also known as "Advancing Giants."
At first I was shocked after seeing it, because the giants don't only hurt people but also eat them deliciously.  But I like the cruel things in comics or anime.  It is funny enough to fulfill my appetite.
The giants always wait for the wall that was constructed to block them to break down so they can eat the people up.  So the people are frightened of them and have an army against the giants to prepare for the giants' attack.
The main character's name is Eren.  He has a very brave personality.  He lost his mom to the giants, so he decided to be stronger for human beings against the giants.

Austin & Ally

I will introduce a sitcom to you.  Have you heard about "Austin & Ally"?  Maybe you have not. :)  "Austin & Ally" is a sitcom that is broadcast on the Disney Channel.  This isn't famous in Korea, so many Koreans don't know about this.
The outline of this show is very simple.  There are 2 main characters in "Austin & Ally."  Austin is a boy who is an internet star.  He is off the wall :)  Ally is a girl who is very timid and likes to compose music.
"Austin & Ally" starts like this: One day Austin locates a nice song, which was composed by Ally.  Austin steals this song and he finally becomes an internet star through this song.
You may think this sitcom is a little childish, but it is funny and easy to understand without subtitles even if you aren't good at English listening skills.  How about watching this? :)

Looking Forward to the Movie "은밀하게 위대하게" ("Secretly and Greatly")

Many interesting movies will be released soon.  There is one movie that I have anticipated for a long time.  The title of the movie is "은밀하게 위대하게" (Secretly and Greatly).  This movie is based on a Daum webtoon.  It was already popular because of its interesting content.  So many people are looking forward to it after an article came out saying that "은밀하게 위대하게" will be released soon.
At first, I didn't know about the webtoon "은밀하게 위대하게."  But after I knew that many famous and handsome actors like Kim Soo Hyun (김수현) and Lee Hyun Woo (이현우) will appear in this movie, I began to wait for the release date.
It will be watched by many people.

Iron Man Flies, Korean Movies Are Going Down

Did you watch Iron Man 3?  Well, I did.  Then how about new Korean movies?  I didn't.  Do you know why?  Because these days Korean movies are not worth my money, so I don't feel like watching them.  I guess anyone else would think like me.
I heard that Iron Man 3 earned the third-highest amount of foreign currency.  I think the movie deserves it.  There are such cool special effects and they are so perfect that we can't notice what is fake.  The actors and actresses' perfect action and the movie stories make the movie perfect.  These are the reasons why people like this kind of movies which are made in America or Britain.  I am sure that Korean movies should be more developed in this genre.
Movie goers especially have no problem; they just watch what they want.
So my point is that Korean movies need to be developed and make their future bright.

Taylor Swift's Dating Life

Taylor Swift has dated many celebrity guys, but she has never had a long-term relationship, ever!  It is said that her hobby is to date a guy and break up and write a song about that guy.  On YouTube, there a lot of parodies of her songs.  I don't think it's not bad, but I just wanna show you that she doesn't always write songs that are negative toward guys.  She has many songs that are positive toward guys, like "Begin Again," "Teardrops on My Guitar," "Red," and "You Belong with Me."  As far as I'm concerned, she just easily falls in love and realizes her love is true love.

Shooting Incident at the Cannes Film Festival

There was a serious shooting incident at the Cannes Film Festival.  The Cannes Film Festival is one of the most famous film festivals in the world.  It was held in France starting on March 15.  On the third day of it, a man shot a gun toward the stage while the MC was progressing the festival.  But nobody was killed or injured.  The shooter (suspect) was arrested and the bullet was just a blank.  And the grenade which was held in the shooter's hand was just a model.  Anyway, from this accident the Cannes Film Festival was defamed.

Suffering from Too Many English Assignments

This is for the first graders of WK Girls' High School.
Beware when you become a second grader because English assignments (memorizing English words) will try to eat you up - I mean literally.
When I first heard that we have to memorize two units of a vocabulary book every week, I thought it was nothing because each unit only contains 80 words or so.  Then I found out that we also have to memorize derivatives.  I freaked out because then I have to memorize 300 words per week, which is too much for me and I believe for nearly every student.
So, well...What I'm telling you is to memorize the vocab book before becoming a second grader.
-From a second grader who is suffering
